Lions and Tigers and Bears...Oh My!!!

Last night I decided to take this little cutie to the circus!We had such a fun time and got to see some pretty cool stuff!

We got to see six tigers do a bunch of sweet tricks...

Like stand up on their back legs!

We also got to see a little chubby girl get pushed around by a chubby bear! So cute.

Then this guy entertained us by running on this ginormous circle that would swing around in circles. He almost fell off while jumping rope. It was the scariest thing I've ever seen.

We also got to see the elephants! Bentley loved them!

He looks somewhat frightened here...he actually had this face most of the night. And he demanded that he have his pacifier throughout most of the circus. It was like his comfort tool around the big animals or something. We had such a fun time together and can't wait to go next year!

Aquarium Fun

This winter we have tried to venture out of the house and have some fun. While talking with my cousin on the phone yesterday, we decided to jump in the car and take our kids up to the Living Planet Aquarium. Bentley and I had never been before and had a great time. He loved it of course...good thing too because we got an annual pass so we can go as often as we like!

They had this huge tank that had a bunch of shark, fish, and everything else under the sea. This shark kept swimming right in front of Bentley and it scared him every time.

We even got a chance to touch the stingrays. Way cool.

Bentley also got to touch some starfish and these creepy looking things.

I posted this picture, not only because it is cute of Bentley and Gabe exploring together, but also because this glass-illusion-ball protruding out of the wall broke my nose. No lie. When you stand in front of it, it has the illusion that it is concaved into the wall. I saw Bentley looking into it so I walked over to see what he was looking at and smacked my nose into it as hard as I could. Ouch! I can barely touch my nose today without crying. And here is proof of the wicked bump that now graces my face...

I think that Bentley and I are the most accident prone people ever to exist. I think that it is official, that we can't go anywhere without something crazy happening to us!!!

If anything, I guess it makes for some funny, crazy stories.

Nothin' but excitement and adventure...

The last couple of weeks sure have brought a lot of craziness around our house. It started about two weeks ago when Bentley started breathing really unregularly, so much so that we hurried and called 911. The ambulance came and Bentley was not down with the E.M.T. guys checkin' him out and he freaked out to say the least. It turns out he only had croupe. Then the next week we experienced his falling out of the shopping cart incident. Yikes. Then this morning Bentley and I were eating breakfast when all of a sudden our smoke detector started yelling at us that there was carbon monoxide in the house. So I called Taylor in a panic and he said he would take care of it. About 3 minutes later I looked out my front window to see 5 fully suited firefighters headed our way! It was awesome and Bentley totally loved it. It was like a private firefighter party at our place. If I would have known I would have invited the entire primary over. haha. They took all their special carbon monoxide readings all over the house and it turns out the levels were shockingly high. The master bedroom registered at 32 and the nursery at 23. They said that they usually evacuate people when levels are at a 6 and said that they have to wear their gas masks when levels are at 35. They thought it was the furnace and called a Questar Gas guy to come out and check it out. He said that it wasn't our furnace which was a relief. It turned out that Taylor had turned on his rental car before he left for work (it was parked out in the driveway and not the garage) and the exaust seeped through the walls and windows. Scary. So we learned a valuable lesson today that turning your car on to warm it up, even when it is parked away from the house can drift carbon monoxide into the house. Just a heads up for any of you that might also do that.

So Bentley and I had an exciting and adventurous time with the fire department this morning. They were kind enough to take a few pictures with him and honked the big fire truck horn as they drove away. Bentley totally dug that. Here are a few pictures that I snapped while they were here.

Bad Mommy Award

So today the saddest thing happened to my little guy at Costco. Every now and then I let Bentley stand up in the back of the shopping cart because he gets bored and fussy sitting in the front just looking at me the whole time. So today while shopping around, I thought I would let him get in the back so he would have more fun. I usually always make sure he is sitting on his bum...but I didn't today and am now so dissapointed that I didn't. He was standing up in the middle and as I tried to slow my cart down for a man that was coming our way, the momentum threw Bentley off balance and he went head first over the back of the cart. It was like slow motion. The fall felt like ten minutes when in reality it was about ten milliseconds. And there was not a thing I could do about it. He supermaned over the front, doing a front flip and landed on his back on the hard concrete floor. It was awful and I am crying just recounting the memory. I of course freaked out...but the real kicker is that not one person stopped to help me help my son. They all just stared and walked on by. It was horrible to say the least, but thankfully my little buddy is okay. Miraculously nothing was broken or damaged. And I am just so thankful that we have a Heavenly Father who is watching out for our little ones. I did however learn a very valuable lesson...never again will I let my kids stand or sit in the back of the cart. Disaster averted. I love my little buddy and am so grateful for his loving, forgiving nature. He is so patient with me as I am still learning. He is such a stinkin sweetie and cutie pie and I am grateful to have him in my life!

Christmas 2009

This Christmas post is a little late, but better late than never I suppose. We had such an awesome Christmas this year. It was filled with lots of fun with family, friends, food, and laughter. Here are a few pictures to document the holiday! We went and saw all the beautiful Christmas lights!

Well sort of.

Santa brought Bentley this red wagon...he loved it. I absolutely love his expression when he first saw it. He is obsessed with it to say the least and wants to ride around the house in it all day.
